Support Staff

Chopra Addiction & Wellness Center has employment opportunities for support staff for evening and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Relate to individuals in a professional, compassionate and positive manner, which reflects their personal worth, dignity and rights
  • • Demonstrate respect and compassion for self and others in action and all communications
  • • Be committed to work as a member of a team ensuring participation, communication, flexibility and openness to new situations
  • • Document and read all relevant information in the log and communication books on a daily basis.
  • • Supporting guests and other staff in a variety of ways
      • • Assist prospective guests on phone
      • • Helping to co-facilitate an educational group
      • • Helping to orient new guests to facility
      • • Accompanying guests on a walk
      • • Engage in healthy casual discussions with guests
      • • Obtain guests personal items from lock up if required
      • • Medication Administration (access meds, witness, document)
      • • Picking up or dropping off guests to designated locations if required
  • • Supervise and record medication in accordance with policy
  • • Participating in scheduled staff meetings or program planning
  • • Familiarize yourself with policies, procedures, operations, website content, welcome package and orientation information in order to maintain an environment that reflects harmony, personal satisfaction and consistency in the work place.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • • Notable communication and interpersonal skills
  • • Ability to work as part of a team with a variety of staff, professionals, and other members of the community
  • • Personal commitment to wellness and demonstrated interest in the field
  • • Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • • Valid class 5 driver’s license & Vehicle Insurance
  • • A minimum of grade 12 education with preference given to a certificate or diploma in social Service/Human
  • • Service Field/Substance Abuse Counseling
  • • Knowledge of relevant support services for people with addictions.
  • • Knowledge of substance misuse and the bio-psycho-social effects on the user and their families
  • • Training and experience working with substance use issues, compelling behaviours, and psychological trauma would be an asset

Yoga & Meditation Instructor

 Massage Therapist

 
The Chopra Addiction & Wellness Center is looking for massage therapists to join our team.

We are an in-patient rehabilitation center treating those who struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD and addiction. Part of our program is providing our guests with massage twice a week in the afternoon.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Cook

The Chopra Addiction and Wellness Center in Squamish, BC is looking for dynamic and creative cooks who love creating outstanding plant-based meals, using local, organic, high-quality food.

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Creating daily menus, cooking and serving groups ranging in size from 10-20 people.
  • • Daily and assigned cleaning duties including tear down and dishes.
  • • Interacting with guests and maintaining the highest standards in product

Kitchen Assistant

The Chopra Addiction & Wellness Center is looking for Kitchen Assistants to work on a part time basis. This position requires preparation and serving of food as well as cleaning food service equipment and dining areas. We are willing to train the right candidate!

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Maintaining compassion and respect for guests.
  • • Working with chef
  • • Participating in scheduled staff meetings
  • • Developing and maintaining healthy working relationships with other team members

Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

  • • Some knowledge of the methods and procedures of food preparation, service and cleaning.
  • • Some knowledge of the care and operation for a variety of kitchen equipment and tools.
  • • Some knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • • Ability to carry out simple oral and written instructions and routines.
  • • Ability to care for and use a variety of kitchen equipment and tools.
  • • Ability to work effectively with the guests, staff and supervisors.
  • • Ability to perform the work efficiently.

Our Ideal candidate:

  • • Have Food Safe Course Level 1

  • • Ideal candidate will have one year related experience in dish washing or kitchen work or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
